Slippery Elm Bark Powder Tea, 4.0 oz.
Slippery Elm Bark is used for protecting against stomach and duodenal ulcers, for colitis, diverticulitis, GI inflammation, and too much stomach acid. It is applied to the skin for wounds, burns, gout, rheumatism, abscesses, ulcers, cold sores, boils, and toothaches. It is also used for coughs, sore throat, colic, diarrhea, constipation, hemorrhoids, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bladder and urinary tract infections.
In a crisis, if the person has chronic diarrhea, Slippery Elm can be taken every 1/2 hour. As the frequency of bowel movements eases, so can the dose. The body’s response is the best guide.
Taken before each meal, and before retiring at night is the usual maintenance dose, until healed. Use 1 teaspoon to 2/3 cup hot water. Stir quickly to ensure there are no lumps until reaching a consistency similar to apple sauce. Then consume as needed. More water can be added if it’s too thick.
