Oat Burgers

Ingredients

  • 4 ½ cups of water

  • 1/3 cup oil

  • 4 ½ cups of old-fashioned oats

  • ½ cup of liquid coconut aminos

  • 3/4 cup walnuts or sunflower seeds

  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast flakes

  • ¼ cup sesame seeds

  • 1 large nonstick skillet, pan/pot

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 diced onion

Preparation

  1. Blend all the ingredients except the oats in about 2 cups of water.

  2. Add to a large nonstick skillet.

  3. Add the rest of water to the blender to get any of left-over blended mix and add to the pan.

  4. Bring to a boil. Add oats and mix until oats are very thick and has absorbed the water, about 5 minutes.

  5.  Turn off burner and set aside to cool for about 15 minutes. In the meantime, pre-heat oven to 350°F.

  6. Once mixture is cool enough, form burgers with hands by shaping into a ball and then flattening with hand and place in an oiled baking pan.

  7. Bake on each side for 20 minutes.
