Nettle Leaf thrives in woodlands and shady areas throughout Europe and eastern North America. It is also called stinging nettle because the leaves are lined with stinging hairs that inject histamine into the skin when handled or brushed against. The herb is highly nutritious and its medicinal use can be traced back to the ancient world.

It is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin A, calcium, linolenic acid, quercetin, iron, magnesium and potassium.

It’s been used to treat painful muscles, joints, eczema, arthritis, gout, anemia, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, urinary tract infections, and seasonal allergies.

Cut and sifted Nettle leaf is commonly used in herbal tea blends, although it is also frequently encapsulated or tinctured.

Use 1 tsp to 1 cup of water. Bring water to a boil. Turn heat off and let sit 10 minutes. Strain and store in fridge.
